As of this week, we have been to 2 farmers a week for several weeks. Each time we learn something new about running the cart packing, setting up the booth and improving the flow of our operation. We have learned a lot from other vendors at the Salem Saturday Market. For example, Croissant & Co. hangs their paper towels with a long bungy cord on their canopy. The things we are learning about packing, use of trailers and organization of the booth have been great. One thing is you cannot have too much space in your van! (we need a lot more). Of course, when you get more space, there is more to pack, and more to unload, and more to load, of course more to unpack. We hope to be thinking about a trailer maybe later in the summer.
Starting this week the farmers market season really picks up, with markets in our area every day of the week. We are planning to attend 4 markets a week starting this week, and then 5 markets later in June. They are all of different sizes, so the planning (how much to prepare, how to pack) is quite a a challenge.
This will be an exciting week!
