Twice in the last week we ran out of our specialty vegan/gluten free (VGF) batter. We are sorry to disappoint. We realize that our other batters are not an option as almost everyone that enjoys our VGF crêpes must forgo a crêpe if we have no batter.
We doubled our production for Saturday and still ran out.
How much batter to make is a balancing act. Our VGF batter is handmade in small batches with organic ingredients. 100% organic bean flour, nut milk, coconut oil and the rest are expensive. If we make too much, it must be discarded as it has a very short shelf life. Such waste would increase the cost, and if it happened on an ongoing basis would force a price increase. That is unacceptable. But so is running out of batter.
So starting this week we will make more batter and make you a promise:
If we run out of batter we will apologize & give you a VGF coupon good for $1 off on your next visit to our cafe or our farmers market booth.
